|For almost 2,000 years, the message of Jesus has been carried across the world, transforming cultures as followers of Jesus have taken his mandate seriously, to go into all the world with the transformative power and message of Jesus Christ. And while this message has come at a huge cost to many who have carried it, it has proved to be UNSTOPPABLE despite the opposition which has come against it.|
And this message that they carry is an invitation into an encounter with the living Jesus. It's a message of reconciliation!
2 Corinthians 5:19
That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them.
1. Reconciliation between God and Humanity
2. Reconciliation for mankind with one another
And it's a message that we have been empowered to carry on Christ's behalf.
2 Corinthians 5:19-20
And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf; Be reconciled to God.
So as we celebrate National Reconciliation Week, we consider the theme:
More than a word, reconciliation takes action.
Just as God has been actively pursuing His people for reconciliation, we too are called to strive for reconciliation on both a personal level and a corporate level.
What actions will you take this week to carry this message of reconciliation into your spheres of influence?
